Pedestrian Safety Project

This week the Kaci, Chelsea, Julia, Victoria and Kaley filmed a message to urge our students to be safe when crossing the street. Now Kaci is putting the video together so we can show it to our students and send it out to our families soon. This is student voice in action!

February 9th Third Grade Meeting

At the third grade meeting this week, we prepared for the Character Counts Week morning announcements, discussed Spirit Week dress up themes and spent some time working on Artwork for HPD. It's always fun together in our small groups because we can have nice discussions and learn more about each other! Someone in our group is good at making silly faces!! 🤣🤣🤣

Pedestrian Safety Concerns

On Monday, Chelsea, Kaci and I met with The police officers and Mrs. Gaston to discuss a safety concern that Kaci (our SC president) has seen lately. We discussed with the police how we've seen kids j-walk across the street during the after school rush. It's a big safety concern because cars are coming around the corner and may not see the kids running across the street. The police and the Student Council officers are planning on doing a pedestrian safety video to inform kids about pedestrian safety hazards. We appreciate the police spending their time to come talk to us about this. The police officers have been very supportive when it comes to safety hazards that we find.
