Field Trip to U.S. District Court

On March 23, 2026, we had the incredible opportunity to spend the day at the U.S. District Court. Our visit included a 30-minute session with District Judge Shanlyn A.S. Park, who shared insights about her role and guided us through the different parts of the courtroom.

We also heard from several professionals who play important roles in the justice system, including Chief Probation Officer Timothy Jenkins, Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca Perlmutter, Assistant Federal Public Defender Melinda Yamaga, and Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Scott Hilbert.

Students were highly engaged throughout the experience, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine curiosity. It was a meaningful and memorable day, and we hope it sparked an interest in learning more about the law and our court system!

Mokuleia Beach Clean Up

We appreciate the families who joined our group of 24 students and parents to support the efforts of 808 Cleanups at the beach clean-up on Saturday, March 7. It was an early morning for our group, but once the clean-up began, everyone was all smiles. Students and families enjoyed working together to help beautify the beach and surrounding area while helping to improve the health of our ocean.

Family Author's Night

Thanks to all of our families who came out to support our Family Author Night by helping manage the games. It was a wonderful evening and another happy memory created for our school community!

SCC Meeting

Thank you to our Student Council Treasurer, Corbin, who stepped in on short notice to practice and attend the SCC/PTO Meeting on Wednesday, March 4 to deliver the Student Council update. We appreciate you stepping up and representing our ‘Ike students so well!

Mock Trial

We had a successful and lively mock trial on March 4, 2026! The students did a wonderful job staying in character and worked hard to memorize their lines. At the end of the questioning, our two jury teams deliberated and even reached different verdicts, which sparked a lively debate among the group.

It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience for everyone involved. Hopefully, it served as a strong introduction as we prepare for our field trip to the U.S. District Court right after spring break.
