Second Quarter Assemly

Our Officers did a great job as emcees for our second assembly of the school year. All Student Council members helped to lead the energizers for their classes.

Thanksgiving Notes

Student Council Members invited their classmates to write Thanksgiving Notes to their teachers or others at our school. It was a great way for us to start off the holiday season and to show our thanks to those who provide help and support everyday!

Toys for Tots Collection

Thank you to everyone for coming out to help with our Toys for Tots Collection! We collected 15 big boxes of toys for less fortunate children.

Junior Judges Program

Mr. Jeffrey Hu from the Young Lawyers Division of the Hawaii State Bar Association presented the Junior Judges Program to our group on October 26, 2016. During the presentation we discussed how to make good decisions on a variety of topics such as cheating, stealing, teasing and bullying. We also talked about WHY it's important to make good decisions. It was a very lively discussion!

Nameplates

Fourth grade SC members worked on their nameplates during our lunch meeting on October 26, 2016. Looking forward to seeing everyone's name on our bulletin board!

Character Counts Celebration

On Saturday October 22, Student Council Members worked in shifts to work at our school booth at the Character Counts Celebration. Our students were great helpers to the children playing our game and represented our school well!

Toys for Tots Committee

Our Toys for Tots Committee Members, Faith, Norah and Lilly started the planning for this upcoming service project.

Cafeteria Staff Appreciation

On behalf of all 'Ike students our Fourth Grade Members showed their appreciation to our awesome Cafeteria Staff with a thank you poster and some treats! Special thanks to Hannah for using her artistic skills to make the beautiful sign :-). 

Custodial Staff Appreciation

The Student Council showed their appreciation to our hard working school custodial staff on October 7th.  CJ spoke on behalf of the Student Council and expressed appreciation for the efforts by the custodians to make our school clean, safe and beautiful!
Thank you to Lilly for her hard work creating the thank you poster for the custodians. Thanks also to Arie and Faith who helped wrap the candy bar thank yous we gave to the custodians.

Mrs. Ajifu visits the Student Council

At our SC meeting on October 5, Mrs. Ajifu stopped by for the visit! She spoke to the students about the importance of their positions and to thank them to their service.

IHS Collection

Student Council Members did a great job collecting and sorting the donations at the IHS Collection.  Thank you to everyone who woke up a little early to help at the collection!

Speaker from The Institute for Human Services

Mrs. Liza Lee from the Institute of Human Services spoke to students during lunch about what IHS does for their clients and how our donations will help. She also spoke to our students about the challenges that homeless children face.

First Student Council Meeting

At our first monthly Student Council Meeting, members learned a little more about their roles as SC Representatives. The Officers lead the meeting and went over expectations at meetings and reviewed some of the service projects we will be doing. Everyone had a chance to introduce themselves and we all learned the "Happy Pueo" energizer! It was a great first meeting!

Officer Leadership Training

On August 18th, 'Ike Officers attended a training at Mililani Waena that included Student Council Officers from all Mililani Complex schools. At the training Mililani High School Officers taught their elementary school counterparts about the duties and responsibilities of each of their positions. Of course there was a lot of fun too with ice breakers, energizes and delicious snacks and lunch!

Induction Ceremony

On May 24, 2016 Mrs. Ajifu lead an Induction Ceremony for the incoming Officers for next school year. We appreciate the service and leadership of our current Officers, Ella, Aidyn, Karli and Aaryn and welcome our new Officers, Arie, Constantine, Faith and Alexander!

School Supply Drive

Our last service project for the year was a school supply drive. Donations were picked up by Operation Homefront, an organization that supports military families in need.

Ice Palace!

The Student Council and SCP Team enjoyed a day of fun at Ice Palace. Thank you to the members of these service clubs who provide support and service to our school and community all year!

Last SC Meeting

At our last group meeting of the school year we were treated to cake and juice brought in by Aidyn's family.  Best of luck to the Izquierdos as they are moving this summer! We will miss you!

We also played a fun hula hoop game that tested how well we work together as a group.

Primary Election for 2016-2017

Congratulations to Student Council Members: Mia, Anden, Alexander, Arie, Shane, Atianna and Amanda who represented their classes in the Student Council Primary Elections. They all did a fabulous job!
